I read of an American woman who travelled to Zimbabwe in search of her ancestry. She asked about the traditional words used by the locals as they greeted one another - “Mhoro, wakaadii” (“Hello, how are you?”), “Ndapora kana wapora” (“I am well if you are well”). I write this having returned from our first flurry of Eastertide celebrations at St Oswald’s. All the waiting and preparing of Lent followed by our more focussed Holy Week journey brought us, as expected, to the threshold of Easter.
