Quinquennial Repairs

We are happy to report that most of the work on the roof and the guttering has now been completed – there remains one short section of guttering which needs further work. It was good to have this work at height done before the winter weather.

The next phase of the work will be started in March or April after the necessary consents are finalised. This will involve lowering the ground level at the north west corner of the church from the tower door round to the boiler house where soil has built up over the years and is causing damp problems. Repair work will also be carried out to the stone surround to the window on that west wall.

The first phase of the work was paid for money raised from the Beetle drive which made a profit of £345 and donations of £10,050 together with a grant from the Harewood section 106 monies of £10,000. We are very grateful for the support we have received including one very generous individual donation however we will still need to raise around a further £10,000 to complete the work and put the building in good order for the future. The church exists to serve the whole community of Collingham and Harewood both in regular worship and for those milestones in life whether in sorrow or in joy and we want it to be a pleasant welcoming place .

Please consider whether you are able to make a donation to this work. And if you can Gift Aid it we receive another 25p in the pound at no cost to yourself (if you pay sufficient UK income tax) You can contact the Vicar or treasurer Robin Mannall or the Stewardship Recorder Rosemary Folkard for more information.
